READ YOUR WAY UP II.

EAT, WALK and FIGHT as GOOD SOLDIERS OF CHRIST!

Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. – Joshua 1:8 (NLT) READING, STUDYING, MEMORIZING, and MEDITATING on God’s Word daily brings us precious and numerous benefits. Two of the main ones being wisdom and success in all that we do.

Wisdom is applied knowledge. If you don’t find the knowledge through reading how shall you become wise? Real success is OBEYING the Lord daily and living for His glory. How shall you become successful when you don’t know what the Lord wants and expects from you? We need to store up the Word in our hearts so we may not sin against the Holy One. (Psalms 119:11)

Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.” – Colossians 3:10 (NLT) How can you be RENEWED without the Word? You took off your old self; so, you are now naked, you need clothing. Your new nature can only be clothed and renewed by the Word. Until you clothe yourself with the Word the enemy will keep shooting at you and succeed because you have no protection on my dear. The Lord will not cover you up by force…you do it by CHOICE.

FAITH comes by hearing the Word of God. This makes the strength of our faith dependent on the time we invest READING & HEARING the Word. The less time we spend reading, the weaker our faith.

For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. – Galatians 6:8 (ESV) Those who eat MTV, celebrity gossip etc. become a product of what they consume. They follow what they follow because they know whose IMAGE they want to IMITATE. Those who seek and desire to imitate Jesus Christ eat the bread of life/His Word. Sowing into the flesh will only result in death. For the wages of sin is death. (Romans 6:23)

But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means. – 1 Corinthians 2:14 The Word is Spirit, therefore, it will not be understood and received by the flesh. You must be in spirit to understand and see the Word of God alive. Only the Holy Spirit can teach you everything about the truth and remind you of all things Jesus said. (John 14:26) If we want to live according to the Word, we must learn to daily sit quietly, open our Bibles, and ask the Spirit to teach us.

Jesus came for the HUNGRY, WEAK, WEARY and BROKEN, not the full and the healthy. “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me WILL NEVER BE HUNGRY AGAIN. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” – John 6:35 Here, Jesus was speaking in relation to the hunger of our spirits. Jesus came to RAISE our dead spirits and feed it with His Word; so it may have eternal life. After we accept Christ (We RESURRECT) if we don’t read the Word; we will literally die of starvation. God is here to feed the hungry. If you are lacking the hunger for His bread then ask Him to help you grow hungry and you shall have what you ask for in His name but you must persist. Persistence is a sign of TRUE DESIRE.

A WARRIOR is a brave or experienced soldier or fighter. A WORRIER is a person who is inclined to worry. WARRIORS are not worriers. They are CONFIDENT in their leader and they are well equipped to SLAY their enemies on the battlefield. The attitude of a warrior is what we will develop when we grow closer to God and eat our daily bread; which is our SWORD of the Spirit. You either become a warrior or a worrier. There is no half-way when it comes to the spiritual walk. To become a warrior one must be trained and equipped. How can you become a fearless disciple/warrior of Christ without the Word? To preach what?

We must wear THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD and FIGHT the GOOD FIGHT of FAITH as WARRIORS. We know how it ends, VICTORY is ours through Christ. Jesus never said it would be easy but He said it would be so WORTH IT. So, we have to DRESS our full armour and step out in Faith to the battlefield in God’s timing.

“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” – Ephesians 6:10 (NLT)
